Why we started Planner Bee
We built Planner Bee to bring better, personalised financial advice to everyone.
Financial planning hasn’t kept up with today’s technology. On both the client and advisor side, the process is bogged down with paperwork and disparate data, preventing most people from getting a full picture of their financial status. Without a consolidated view, it’s hard to see how you’re really doing—like if you have adequate insurance coverage. Or how your investments are performing, even how your cash flow is like across bank accounts.
But distribution is a different story. Today, you can get investment and insurance products online, and even digital-only banks popping up across the region rapidly. But financial advice remains staunchly offline, blocking consumers from jumping on digital options confidently.
Planner Bee was created to bridge this gap. Our vision is to allow end-users to be able to take charge of their money, and advisors to be empowered to provide holistic financial planning.
Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer
Cherie is a financial advisor with 13 years of experience, ranking in the top 5% of financial advisors globally in the last 11 years. Cherie graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, and a Minor in Technopreneurship. She is also a certified Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). Her experience managing over a thousand clients has guided the design of Planner Bee’s approach to holistic financial planning.
Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer
Kenneth started his career as a financial analyst at Standard Chartered Singapore, obtaining his Level III CFA certificate after graduating from National University of Singapore with a Business degree. Later, as an Artificial Intelligence engineer at AI Singapore, he began to further refine his skills in marrying finance and technology.
He brings his banking experience to Planner Bee’s marketplace, helping the app’s logic in assessing different products. And with his machine learning capabilities, he has been the brain behind the database and the backend engine powering Planner Bee.
Our awards and achievements
How we make money
We work with independent insurance brokers, insurers and other financial institutions and get paid a referral fee for each sale—you’re not paying any extra if you buy a product through us. We don’t give preferential treatment to any insurer over another, because of the fees we collect. We’re committed to offering you a transparent and neutral platform, so that you know we have your back as we build toward your dreams together.
Is Planner Bee affiliated with any insurance company or bank?
No, we’re an independent entity, which means that we’re not owned by an insurance company, nor do we own one. We list information of financial products from multiple financial institutions without bias or favour toward any of them. It’s important to us that we help you find the right product for your needs, no matter which company you buy from.
